Practice Fees

Valid from 1 July 2023.

Full payment at the time of consultation is required.

Important Notes

• We accept cash, cheque , Visa / Mastercard and EFTPOS.
• We offer Medicare online and Medicare Easyclaim
• Patients are required to make a minimum payment of the gap at each consult.
• Full payment on the day is encouraged with a discount in the gap.
• Pensioners and concessional card holders will have a discount on the standard gap charges.
• Higher gaps apply with longer consults.
• Weekend consults incur an additional $10 fee for adults .
• Similar gaps apply for Telephone/ Telehealth consults from October 2020

Fees for standard consults are as follows:

$93.00 paid in full at time of consult – this is a discounted fee for paying in full.
Concession card holders will receive a further reduction.
A standard consult fee will be $80.00, paid in full at time of attendance.
Medicare rebate for standard consult is $42.85.
Weekends incur a further $10 fee on top of the standard fee.

Our reception staff are able to assist you to get your Medicare rebate back at the same time as you pay your account. Please discuss with them how you can receive this service.

Maylands Medical Clinic is not a bulk billing practice. If the doctor you see decides to bulk bill you, they are accepting the lesser fee and will send the account directly to Medicare for the government to pay directly to the doctor. But that fee is not the same as the fee you are charged as a private patient.

Currently most GPs providing services at Maylands Medical Clinic will accept the significantly reduced fee for children under 5 by bulk billing them. Reduced private fees apply to children 5-16 – standard consult will be $80 with rebate of $42.85.

Fees are at doctors discretion and if you feel you have extenuating circumstances, please discuss these with your GP.

Some services provided by Maylands Medical Clinic may not attract a Medicare rebate, such as:

• dressings
• heavy vehicle licences
• employment medicals
• completion of travel forms

So that we can advise you of the fees that may apply, please discuss your requirements with your doctor or our front reception staff.
